Alison and Kath met at Hull University and first worked together professionally as The Wild Girls comedy double-act in the 1980s.  Friends for 20 years, they reunited in 1996 to form a new company, taking their first show, ‘It’s Uncanny!’, to Edinburgh Fringe in 1997. Since then The Weird Sisters have had phenomenal international success and toured almost non-stop. They have played in Australia, Canada, the USA, Holland, Germany and Belgium, as well as all over the UK.  Their intention to produce high quality comedy drama has paid off in huge critical acclaim as well as making them one of the best-loved companies on the fringe circuit.

Their live shows have been performed in theatres, tents, village halls, schools, in an Australian women’s prison and a Dutch organ museum. Their favourite programme description, translated from the German, is ‘The Weird Sisters are as stimulating as a biscuit, dunked in a glass of poisoned cherry juice.’
